Saqsaywaman, Peru
In January 2020, Maren Elwood (Visual Anthropologist) will be taking both adult explorers and graduate students to what used to be the epicenter of the Inca empire...Saqsaywaman. Located right above Cusco, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is an active archaeological zone where the Ministry of Culture and the communities that live on the site are negotiating to find a way for the descendants of the Inca to live on the site while also doing critical archaeological work.
