Traveling With On-Site Expeditions
When you travel with us, you become part of an active archeological and/or anthropological research project. You will spend a week being trained to assist in a working dig or helping to film and document the site. You will join the team of professionals working on these amazing sites. Traveling as a student or an adult explorer, you'll learn how to engage with other cultures while respecting and preserving their heritage.
Learn about the life and cultures of indigenous people across the Americas.
In January 2020, Maren Elwood (Visual Anthropologist) will be taking both adult explorers and graduate students to what used to be the epicenter of the Inca empire...Saqsaywaman. Located right above Cusco, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is an active archaeological zone where the Ministry of Culture and the communities that live on the site are negotiating to find a way for the descendants of the Inca to live on the site while also doing critical archaeological work.
